The cult street camera, rebuilt from the sensor up — and almost impossible to find in stock.
The Ricoh GR IV packs a 25.7-megapixel APS-C sensor — the same size found in far larger mirrorless cameras — into a body that genuinely disappears into a jeans pocket. The newly designed 18.3mm f/2.8 GR lens (28mm
Get Inspired to capture expressive photos with enhanced imaging power. The Ricoh GR IV is a premium point-and-shoot camera with a fixed lens that doesn’t sacrifice image quality despite its compact size. Street and travel photographers have long raved about the GR lineup, now on its 4th version. The Ricoh GR IV is designed for the photographer who needs a lightweight camera that takes up very little space, and is quick and easy to use to grab high-quality images and video.
Films and reviews from photographers who shoot with it.

5-Axis Shake Reduction
The GR IV features 5-axis image stabilization. In addition to conventional angular and rotational blur, it also corrects shift blur, which tends to be noticeable during close-up shooting.

Super-Slim, High-Performance GR Lens
The GR IV incorporates a newly designed 18.3mm F2.8 GR lens (equivalent to 28mm in 35mm format), delivering exceptional imaging performance with a slim design.

Rich Tones, High-Sensitivity Performance.
The newly designed back-illuminated APS-C-size CMOS image sensor with approximately 25.74 effective megapixels, delivers exceptionally high-quality images rich in resolution and gradation.

Expanded Freedom in Exposure
Electronic Shutter up to 1/16000 sec. This allows you to apply the maximum aperture F2.8 even in bright conditions without an ND filter and opens up new expressive possibilities.

Wireless Connectivity and GR WORLD App
A new GR WORLD app has been designed for a simplified experience. This app enables transferring files from the camera to the mobile, remote shutter release control, and transferring of location data.

Multiple Autofocus Mode
The GR IV offers several AF area modes: whole-frame auto, a zone covering a quarter frame, a small single point, and a pinpoint option.

Compact, quiet, and inconspicuous. The camera disappears in your hand.

Fits in a jacket pocket. The camera you actually grab every single day.

One lens, one focal length, zero decision fatigue. The constraint is the point.

262g, USB-C charging from a power bank. Your whole kit fits in a pocket.

New sensor, real IBIS, faster AF — and unlike the X100VI, it's in stock.

Talk to a human →The GR IV includes a dedicated Macro Mode capable of focusing down to 6 cm (2.4 inches) from the front element. Combined with the large APS-C sensor's natural shallow depth-of-field and rendering, it delivers detail and background bokeh for food, textures, and product close-ups.
Yes, every control dial, switch, and button on the GR IV is positioned on the right side of the camera body. You can turn the power on, adjust aperture and shutter speed via dual command dials, change ISO via the rocker switch, select focus points, and trip the shutter-all with one hand without ever shifting your grip.
Ricoh refreshed the optical formula to 7 elements in 5 groups with 3 aspherical elements. This design drastically reduces chromatic aberration, field curvature, and corner softness. The lens barrel is also slimmer, retracting faster to improve startup speeds, and includes an integrated 2EV Neutral Density (ND) filter to shoot wide-open at f/2.8 even in bright sunlight.
Traditional autofocus systems, even on top-tier cameras require time to acquire a lock. The GR IV Snap Focus allows you to pre-set a fixed focal distance (such as 1.5m, 2.5m or infinity). Pressing the shutter button all the way down instantly bypasses the AF motor and trips the shutter instantly with zero focus lag. When you do need dynamic focusing, the Hybrid Phase-Detection AF system provides rapid face and eye tracking.
The RICOH GR IV packs a full-sized 25.74MP BSI APS-C CMOS sensor paired with a newly optical-engineered 18.3mm f/2.8 prime lens (28mm full-frame equivalent). Unlike smartphones or small 1-inch sensor compacts that rely heavily on artificial sharpening, the GR IV delivers organic depth, rich 14-bit RAW dynamic range, and edge-to-edge resolution that easily competes with mainstream DSLRs and mirrorless setups-all from a camera that fits in your palm.
The camera features an upgraded 5-axis sensor-shift Shake Reduction (IBIS) system delivering up to 6 stops of compensation. Combined with the back-illuminated sensor architecture and expanded sensitivity up to ISO 204,800, you can confidently shoot handheld in low-light environments at slow shutter speeds without introducing camera blur or requiring a tripod.
Smartphones use tiny image sensors that rely on heavy software smoothing and artificial computational sharpening. The GR IV APS-C sensor is more than 10x larger than standard smartphone sensors, delivering true optical depth-of-field, realistic color gradations, superior highlight recovery, and physical glass optics that cannot be replicated by software algorithms.
The RICOH GR IV outperforms the Leica D-Lux 8 primarily through its significantly larger APS-C sensor, which provides over 60% more surface area than the Leica's Four Thirds sensor. This extra size translates to vastly superior dynamic range, cleaner low-light performance, and higher resolving power. Additionally, the GR IV's custom-matched 28mm prime lens yields sharper edge-to-edge optical clarity, while its ultra-light 262g body and 53GB built-in storage make it far more pocketable and practi
Driven by the new GR ENGINE 7 processor, the GR IV offers customizable Image Control profiles-including Negative Film, High Contrast B&W, Hard Monotone, and Soft Monotone. Users can fine-tune grain effect, hue, saturation, contrast, and highlight/shadow tone curves to achieve filmic JPEGs that are ready for immediate sharing via Wi-Fi 6 or Bluetooth 5.3 without post-processing.
Unlike bulky mirrorless systems that get left behind in camera bags, the GR IV is built for your pocket. At just 262g and 33mm thick, it goes everywhere you do. Paired with a blazing 0.6-second startup time and instant Snap Focus, it ensures you never miss a spontaneous street or travel shot again.
